Begins 2019 and this year Germany celebrates 100 years since the founding of the Bauhaus, the school of design that revolutionized creative and artistic thinking. Staatliche Bauhaus (House of State Construction), was the school of architecture, design, crafts and art founded in 1919 by Walter Gropius in Weimar (Germany) and closed by the Prussian authorities in the hands of the Nazi Party.
In its 14 years of existence, influential modernist artists taught at the school and many of them emigrated, extending the Bauhaus heritage to the world. The centenary of the school will be one of the great cultural events of 2019.
